Moenchengladbach through as Hrgota nets Poborsky-style lob

Borussia Moenchengladbach's Branimir Hrgota scored a goal reminiscent of Karel Poborsky's stunning chip at Euro '96 to help his side reach the Europa League last 32 on Thursday.
Swede Hrgota scored twice, including an outrageous scooped lob that recalled former Czech international Poborsky's goal against Portugal, in a 3-0 win over FC Zurich that helped the Germans finish top of Group A. Villarreal followed them into the knockout stages after securing the runners-up spot with a 2-0 win at Apollon Limassol on the final night of the competition's group stage when the remaining 10 places in the knockout round were up for grabs. Torino's passage into the last 32 was eased when hosts FC Copenhagen had Mikael Antonsson and Mathias Jorgensen sent off in the first half of a 5-1 defeat in which they took an early lead through Daniel Amartey. Two goals from Josef Martinez, a penalty from Amauri and further efforts from Matteo Darmian and Gaston Silva ensured the Italians finished second in Group B, behind Club Bruges who won 2-1 at home to HJK Helsinki. Already-qualified Dynamo Moscow finished with a maximum 18 points after a 1-0 win at PSV Eindhoven in Group E, while Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk made it through from Group F behind table-toppers Inter Milan with a 1-0 home win over St Etienne. There was nothing to play for in Group D but the goals rained down with Salzburg reinforcing their position as group winners with a 5-1 win at home to FC Astra while runners-up Celtic lost 4-3 at Dinamo Zagreb.

Beaten, Guingamp play qualification in Thessaloniki

Guingamp defeat against Fiorentina (1-2), combined with the victory of PAOK in Minsk (2-0), forcing the Britons not to lose to Greece to reach the last 16C.

The match: 1-2

Guingamp is going to play his qualification for the final of the Europa League 16C in boiling atmosphere of Thessaloniki. Beaten by Fiorentina (1-2), which had left many of his staff (Mario Gomez, Gonzalo Rodriguez, David Pizarro) at rest, the Breton team has been joined by PAOK, who won at the same time on the lawn Dynamo Minsk (2-0).

Against the Italian training, EAG started the match with the worst ways, as the Viola scored two goals before the quarter-hour mark. This is Marin, for his first start with Fio, who opened the scoring on a Aquilani Service (6). Babacar then doubled the lead after a cross from Vargas (13th). The Guingampais reduced the mark just before the break with a penalty of Beauvue (44th) for a foul by Basanta expelled on action, on Marveaux.
Bar Yatabaré

In numerical superiority, the Costarmoricains, led by a very good Marveaux, multiplied the favorable situations in the second half. But Diallo (48th) Beauvue (58th, 73rd, 86th) Kerbrat (68th) and Marveaux (79th) have managed to equalize, while Yatabaré found the crossbar of the head (79) and Diallo logically saw a goal disallowed for offside (89th).

Everything will be decided on December 11 for players of Jocelyn Gourvennec. For their ticket face PAOK, they will not lose to the Greek training, they have dominated 2-0 go ahead and therefore the particular difference.
Man of the match: the referee Aleksei Eskov

We play the 44th minute when Aleksei Eskov sign a penalty for Guingamp for an imaginary foul on Marveaux Basanta. The Russian official expels defender for annihilation of a clear scoring chance and Beauvue transforms the sentence taking against the foot Tatarusanu. Before that refereeing error, Fiorentina were 2-0 and mastered his game. The suite was much more complicated for the Tuscan training, which has granted numerous occasions but managed to stay ahead. Mr. Eskov note could whistle another penalty, this time valid for a foul on Savic Schwartz (81st). But he preferred to abstain.
The stat: 9

With his victory at Roudourou (2-1), Fiorentina is now unbeaten away in the European Cup last 9 meetings. During this period, the Tuscan team notably achieved a draw at Juventus (1-1), and established itself on the lawn of Dnipropetrovsk (2-1), both times last season C3.

Lille, suspended, waiting ...

By not imposing in Russia against Krasnodar (1-1) on Thursday night in the Europa League, Lille must rely on Wolfsburg defeat against Everton (current game). And it would still beat the Germans on 11 December in Lille. For now, it is waiting ....

The match Lille jet

A combination of three full axis offered the Brazilian Ari, skilful to prick the balloon before Enyeama, his 14th goal in 31 European Cup matches (36). Krasnodar, 2nd in the Russian Premier League, who just offer (2-1) CSKA Moscow, double champion, did not steal this advantage. With full confidence, he put pressure on the Lille defense in the first twenty minutes. Pereyra even scored but the referee saw an obstruction (7th), Izmailov was taken by narrowly Balmont (15th) and Enyeama flew out an involuntary head Rozehnal (28th). LOSC was nevertheless better when he cracked with a first shot on target (24th).

Virtulemment eliminated, LOSC has resumed after the break with a fine volley Rozenhal (47th) and a new range. Mavuba, Rodelin Mendes and replaced in turn Delaplace, Martin (timid for his return) and Frey. By dint of sequences and centers, Rene Girard's men have finally shown up to the challenge. A one to two right between Corchia and Balmont and a center of that cut at the first post of the head by Nolan Roux handed them in on it for the qualification (1-1, 79th). And eliminated Kranosdar, which stops at the stage of its 1st group participation.
The point in the group: Thank Everton?

LOSC knew: a draw in Russia and needed a miracle to qualify. At the break, Everton served French interests leading to Wolfsburg (1-0, goal Lukaku). If, and only if, the Germans fought on Thursday night, Lille still retain a chance of qualifying in group H since a victory at the last day on 11 December in Lille allow them to return to height. After the meeting, the staff and the players listened to the news from Germany. They will know to 8:45 p.m. they can still dream for them and the UEFA index of French clubs.

Everton handed tricky draw, Tottenham face lengthy trips

Everton were placed in one of the Europa League’s toughest groups whilst Tottenham face lengthy trips.Tottenham will be looking to replicate local rivals Arsenal's recent success against Besiktas after being paired with the Turkish side in Group C.The Gunners edged past Besiktas over two legs in the Champions League play-offs, with Slaven Bilic's side dropping down to become top seeds in the secondary competition where they face a return to North London. Also on the agenda for Mauricio Pochettino's side are trips to Serbia's Partizan Belgrade and Greek side Asteras.Everton, coming from pot three at the draw in Monaco, have a tough draw in Group H, where they play a Lille side spearheaded by on-loan Liverpool striker Divock Origi and Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg as well as a tricky journey to Russia's Krasnodar.Scottish champions Celtic avoided meeting Legia Warsaw, the side who they controversially beat in Champions League qualifying due to a technicality, and take the second seed in Group D alongside Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb and Astra Giurgiu. The draw throws up two familiar fixtures, with Spurs and Celtic both taking on opponents they have met previously.Tottenham visited Besiktas' Ataturk Stadium in the group phase of the UEFA Cup in 2006, coming away with a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Hossam Ghaly and Dimitar Berbatov.Meanwhile the Hoops last faced Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League second qualifying round in 1998, losing 3-1 on aggregate after scoring the only goal at Parkhead but losing 3-0 on the road.Hull, who were beaten on away goals in the Europa League play-offs saw their conquerors, KSC Lokeren of Belgium, handed a gruelling travelling schedule with matches against Trabzonspor, Legia Warsaw and Metalist Kharkiv.Elsewhere in the draw, holders Sevilla take on Feyenoord in Group G, which also includes Standard Liege and Rijeka, while the top two sides in Group A -Villarreal and Borussia Monchengladbach - also promise a mouthwatering battle.Inter Milan, who will fancy their chances of making waves in the competition, line up in Group F against Dnipro, St Etienne and first-timers Qarabag of Azerbaijan.Full drawGroup AVillarrealB. Paulinho leads Spurs past AEL Limassol

White Hart Lane, Tottenham 3 (Kane 45, Paulinho 49, Townsend pen. 65) AEL Limassol 0
Paulinho led Tottenham past AEL Limassol in an easy 3-0 victory at White Hart Lane, putting them in the Europa League group stage 5-1 on aggregate.
The Brazilian midfielder scored just after half-time to add to Harry Kane’s goal just before the break to put this tie to bed before the visitors could mount a comeback.
Spurs played a sensible game throughout without ever really getting out of second gear as they held the Cypriot side at arm’s length, before Andros Townsend finished the tie from the penalty spot.
With an eye on Sunday’s crucial fixture against Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino rested much of his squad with only Younes Kaboul and the anonymous Hugo Lloris in the line-up from the weekend’s win against QPR.
Performances from Moussa Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro, who gave the AEL midfield no time or space, will have caught the eye.
With Europa League qualification now in the bag, all eyes are now turned to Liverpool, with Pochettino having a selection headache after a solid performance from his so-call ‘back-up’ players tonight.
KEY MOMENTS6’ – PENALTY GIVEN! Naughton is played in on the right wing and the goalkeeper comes rushing out but the Spurs man gets there first and is felled on the edge of the right side of the area.
13’ – PENALTY SAVED! After a long stoppage due to Fegrouch’s injury, sub goalie Romero comes on and saves Kane’s well struck shot with his legs as the ball was drilled down the middle.
45’ – GOAL! Spurs 1-0 AEL: Paulinho pounces on a loose pass from Nicolaou and immediately lays in Kane through the middle who slots the ball past the goalkeeper into the bottom corner under no pressure.
49’ – GOAL! Spurs 2-0 AEL: Great work from Chiriches as he lays the ball to Paulinho as AEL try to clear and the Brazilian shifts it to his right foot and smashes the ball low into the bottom corner.
65’ – PENALTY AND GOAL! Spurs 3-0 AEL: Edmar handles as Naughton tries to take it around him and the ref points to the spot. Townsend steps up and smashes the ball low into the bottom corner sending the keeper the wrong way.
77’ – SPURS ENJOYING IT! Spurs start to enjoy themselves as Paulinho attempts an overhead kick which the goalkeeper saves well.
KEY STATSTottenham have now won 10 of their last 13 Europa League games, losing just once in that time
Spurs have qualified for the Europa League group stage for the fourth season running.
TALKING POINTCan Spurs replicate this kind of performance against Liverpool at the weekend? Spurs will face much tougher tests but if they can dispatch lesser sides with as much ease, they should have plenty of energy in reserve to match the bigger sides they struggled so badly against last season.
MAN OF THE MATCHPaulinho – He was everywhere tonight and set the tempo for everything Spurs did both in and out of possession. It was his pressing that set up the first goal and his finish for his goal was top class. An all-round brilliant performance.
